On July 22-23, K-Days Tawow (‘welcomes’) you to the NIPIN Showcase (Nipin meaning ‘summer’ in Cree). In Indigenous heritage, summer is complete with warm weather activities such as travel, pow wows, berry picking and ceremonies. At the NIPIN Showcase, guests can enjoy the sights and sounds of the Indigenous showcase from traditional First Nation drum and dance to contemporary Indigenous song. Guests can also enjoy a walk through the art exhibit and visit with artisans demonstrating and selling their wares.
NIPIN Showcase features include:
- Stage performances (noon until 9 p.m.) including traditional songs, dances and drumming
- A variety of Cultural Arts Workshops
- Metis exhibit
- Inuit exhibit
- Artisan sales
- Fine Art exhibit
